Validity and choice

How to use the Jungfrau Travel Pass

Table of Contents

What the Jungfrau Travel Pass covers

The Jungfrau Travel Pass is valid for 3 to 8 days and focuses on the Jungfrau region. The operator lists routes from Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald, the Wengernalp Railway via Kleine Scheidegg, Mürren, Grindelwald-First, Männlichen, Harder Kulm and Schynige Platte. Selected rail links and cruises on Lakes Thun and Brienz are also part of the published validity area.

This does not guarantee that every service runs every day. Mountain railways and boats have seasonal and maintenance periods. Check both the validity map and current operating information for your dates.

Jungfraujoch costs extra

The pass reaches Eigergletscher. The final section to Jungfraujoch requires a separate Jungfraujoch connecting ticket. In August 2026, prices started at CHF 63; the fare from 1 May to 31 October 2026 was CHF 89 including a seat reservation. The official checkout price for your exact date is decisive.

An offer called “Jungfraujoch ticket” can be a standalone return trip rather than the Jungfrau Travel Pass. Check product name, starting station, validity days and included route in the checkout.

Which duration fits?

Choose the number of consecutive days on which you will actually use mountain railways and regional transport. You do not necessarily need the pass for one Jungfraujoch excursion. It becomes more relevant when combining several destinations such as Grindelwald-First, Mürren, Schynige Platte and a lake cruise.

The reduced adult fare requires accepted proof. Children aged 6 to 15 pay CHF 30 under the official 2026 price table, regardless of duration. Families should also check whether another child travelcard already applies.

Jungfrau or Berner Oberland Pass?

The Jungfrau Travel Pass is more tightly focused on the Jungfrau region. The Berner Oberland Pass has a wider area and runs for up to 10 days. Do not compare price alone: mark your exact railways, boats and mountain destinations on both official maps.

Booking and use

After online purchase, the operator sends the pass as a PDF that can be shown on a smartphone. Keep the confirmation, check the validity dates and buy the Jungfraujoch connecting ticket separately if your itinerary requires it.

Updated August 2026. See Jungfrau Railways for current prices, validity and booking options.
