Preparing your visit
Several cableway sections lead from the Titlis valley station in Engelberg to the mountain. The operator gives about 30 minutes for the complete ascent. Allow more time for transfers, access checks and possible queues. The rail ticket from Lucerne to Engelberg is not automatically part of the cable-car ticket.
According to the current operator description, the pedestrian ticket covers the return journey to Titlis and access to the Glacier Cave and Cliff Walk when open. The Ice Flyer requires a separate ticket. Package offers may differ, so read the inclusions for the option you select.
Maintenance and construction at Titlis may result in a different lift from the familiar Rotair or the use of a Boarding Time. On the travel day, check not only whether the site is open but also which sections operate and where a timed slot applies.
Updated August 2026. Information is based on the current Titlis visitor guidance. Operations and facilities may change at short notice.
The Swiss mountain railways guide lists further destinations from Lucerne, Interlaken and Zermatt.
