Planning Jungfraujoch
The faster connection uses the Eiger Express from Grindelwald Terminal to Eigergletscher, where you join the Jungfrau Railway. A product from Grindelwald Terminal does not automatically include earlier travel from Interlaken. Compare the starting station on the ticket with your accommodation.
The classic railway route reaches Kleine Scheidegg through Lauterbrunnen and Wengen or through Grindelwald. The Jungfrau Railway continues from there. This route can form part of a round trip using different sides of the valley. The ticket must cover both ways.
For 2026, the operator states that a seat reservation is mandatory from 1 May to 31 October. It applies to the relevant section from Eigergletscher or Kleine Scheidegg and does not replace the travel ticket. Arrive at the access point in good time for the booked service.
Jungfraujoch is 3,454 metres above sea level. Cold conditions, strong sunlight and rapid weather changes are possible even in summer. Bring warm layers, closed shoes and enough time. Seek medical advice before the trip if you have concerns about altitude.
Updated August 2026. Check the reservation rule, operation and weather with Jungfrau Railways shortly before travel.
For a multi-day stay in the region, compare the single excursion with the Jungfrau Travel Pass.
